GMF Takes Over Management of Aqualon Therme Bad Säckingen

(eap) Since 1 July, the Aqualon Therme Bad Säckingen (in Baden-Württemberg) has officially been a wholly owned subsidiary of RehaKlinikum Bad Säckingen, which has thus assumed operational responsibility for the spa facility. GMF (Gesellschaft für Entwicklung und Management von Freizeitsystemen – Company for the Development and Management of Leisure Systems) has been brought in as a strategic partner and will henceforth be responsible for the operational management of the entire facility.

Aqualon Therme was opened in 1977 as a health spa centre. At the end of July 2009, the Japanese Sauna Village – an investment of around one million euros – was inaugurated. Today, the facility includes a fitness studio, several thermal pools fed exclusively with thermal water, as well as an outdoor area with natural pools, sauna, and bistro. In sum, guests have 885 square metres of water surface available indoors and outdoors. Besides, the spa offers podiatry treatments, rehabilitation sports, and wellness programs. With its offerings, Aqualon Therme Bad Säckingen can welcome around 165,000 spa visitors and 30,000 sauna guests annually.

More about the service company GMF, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, can be found in our next EAP issue 5/2025 (published on 1 September). ■
