Visitors to Heide Park Resort, located near Soltau, can look forward to a new attraction: The amusement park recently announced the opening of a “How to Train Your Dragon” themed area, which is scheduled for May 2016. Heide Park Resort develops the new five million euros area in cooperation with the animation studio DreamWorks.

The attraction is based on the “Dragons” films and TV series which tell the story of young Viking "Hiccup", his dragon "Toothless" and their friends. The new area will feature four rides for children aged three and older as well as their families. Furthermore, park guests will have the possibility to meet Toothless. “Every child knows Hiccup, Toothless and their friends: Cooperating with DreamWorks we develop a land where families can be part of the main characters’ world.

The area will be located in the center of the park, close to the big lake. Construction works have already started and are expected to be completed in mid-May 2016,” Heide Park Resort’s Managing Director Sabrina de Carvalho says. Moreover, the resort announced further additions, e.g. an oriental café at the adventure hotel which has seen the opening of several new features at the beginning of this season (cf. EAP, issue 5/2015). Next year, the amusement park will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of its wooden coaster “Colossos”. (eap)
