Germany: Hansa-Park Announces New Drop Tower for 2019

Germany’s Hansa-Park, which welcomed around 1.4 million guests in the 2017 season (cf. our park report in EAP, 2/18), recently announced a new thrill attraction for 2019 after this year’s opening of its new kiddie attraction "Barcos del Mar".

Adrenaline fans can look forward to "Highlander", a 120-metre-high Gyro Drop tower from Austria’s Funtime GmbH. With a drop height of 103 meters, the new attraction will be the highest free-fall tower in the world with tiltable seats, according to the park. With a fall velocity of 120 km/h, up to 24 passengers can enjoy the “fall into the depth” at the same time. The Gyro Drop tower is set to become one of the main attractions of the park’s future new theme area "Charming Britain" (G.: “Bezauberndes Britannien”), which is to be built around the popular Schwarzkopf looping track "Nessie".
