Gröna Lund Announces New Attraction “Spindeln” for 2026
(eap) Starting in summer 2026, Swedish amusement park Gröna Lund will expand its line-up with a new attraction: “Spindeln” (The Spider), a so-called Super Jumper – the first installation of this ride type in Sweden. Supplied by Italian manufacturer SBF Visa Group, the ride will combine a mix of bouncing, spinning, and speed, making it appealing to both families and thrill-seekers alike.
The attraction will accommodate 42 riders (14 “legs” with three seats each) and allow children from a height of 100 centimeters (approx. 39 inches) accompanied by an adult – or from 130 centimeters without accompaniment – to take part. Thanks to its over-the-shoulder restraints, Spindeln will also be the first Super Jumper in the world to allow younger guests from four years and up to safely join the action. The maximum acceleration is stated at 3G, with a top speed of up to twelve rotations per minute.
“Our rides are always the most fun when they can be shared with family and friends,” says Jan Eriksson, CEO of Gröna Lund. Following the introduction of this year’s new ride “Pumpen” – a Super Swing by RES Rides that opened at the start of the 2025 season (see EAP News of 28 Apr 2025) – the park is now looking forward to presenting a completely new attraction next year.
Spindeln will be located between the suspended family coaster “Kvasten” (Vekoma) and the ghost train “Blå Tåget” (Gosetto). Previously, the site was occupied by the “Flygande Mattan” ride from Zierer.
Beyond the ride itself, Spindeln will also be embedded into a themed environment: visitors entering the queue line will step into the “witch’s garden” – a lush, mysterious world with hidden surprises and magical touches designed to immerse guests before they even board the ride. The attraction’s creative concept was developed by Joep Grutters and Jakob Fagerström. ■
