Groundbreaking for New Vabali Spa Near Munich

(eap) A new wellness oasis with a Balinese ambience is being built just outside Munich with the vabali spa. In the town of Olching, located around 20 kilometers west of Munich, visitors seeking relaxation will in the future find a retreat featuring sauna and wellness areas, pools, relaxation rooms, a gastronomic concept, and an exclusive hotel. A total of 80 million euros is being invested in what will be the fourth location of the spa concept, following Berlin (2014), Düsseldorf (2017), and Hamburg (2022). 250 new jobs are expected to be created by the large-scale wellness project.

“Following the locations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg, we are particularly pleased about the new location in southern Germany. The project in Olching represents another important milestone in our strategic development,” emphasize Markus and Stephan Theune – heads of Theune Spa Management GmbH, which operates the vabali facilities.

“With the vabali spa, the Fürstenfeldbruck district will gain not only a place of relaxation and health, but also a project for sustainable wellness tourism. The spa will be integrated in a high-quality way into the landscape and the natural conditions. We are pleased that a family-run company with strong expertise in health has chosen the Olching location, is creating jobs – and is thereby sending a strong signal for the future viability of our region,” adds District Administrator Thomas Karmasin.

The new vabali spa is planned to feature 14 saunas, four steam baths, two pools, as well as two warm-water pools. In addition, massage and day spa suites, as well as relaxation rooms and lounges, will be available to guests. The offer will be rounded off with gastronomic facilities and a hotel complex with 114 rooms and suites. The construction company Peter Gross Bau has been commissioned to carry out the project.

“For our team at Peter Gross Bau, this moment has great significance, because we are now putting the vision of the vabali spa in Olching into practice. We are creating a building, in the style of the Far Eastern Bali, that meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship, with the goal of creating a unique place of relaxation for the region here,” adds Kai Schmidt, branch manager of Peter Gross Hochbau GmbH & Co. KG, Gilching. An opening date for the spa facility has not yet been announced – the expected construction period is two years. ■
