(eap) Since 2024, Walibi Belgium has transformed into the dark parallel world of “Ibilaw” – the park’s name spelt backwards – during the Halloween season. This year, the Belgian theme park’s Halloween event will run for a total of 20 days between 10 October and 11 November.

Four haunted houses and four scare zones await visitors. New additions include the haunted house “The Grand Hotel” and the scare zone “Hecatomb”. Meanwhile, “Psycho Circus – The Final Act” is entering its final season and will subsequently leave the Halloween line-up. Another new feature, “Bill’s Procession”, will see park character Bill and his henchmen roam the park’s pathways in the evening, wreaking havoc along the way. The returning Halloween show “Bill: A Fairy Tale”, directed by Felipe Garcia, tells Bill’s story from his childhood to his reign over Ibilaw.
Under the slogan “It’s bloody delicious”, the park is expanding its F&B offering with an exclusive selection of Halloween dishes available for a limited time. Developed in collaboration with a Michelin-starred chef, these will be available at various F&B outlets throughout the park.
Park Director Jean-Christophe Parent proudly explains: “In just three editions, Ibilaw has become much more than a Halloween event. Year after year, we create a narrative universe whose characters, settings and story continue to evolve. By continually refreshing the experience, we give visitors a reason to return – even if they already know the park. With The Grand Hotel und Hecatomb, we are taking another step towards establishing Ibilaw as a leading Halloween event in Europe.”
The scare areas complement regular park operations, allowing horror fans and other guests to visit the park at the same time. Children under twelve can receive free “Anti-Monster” badges on request. These signal to Ibilaw’s performers that the children do not wish to take part in scary interactions. To ensure an optimal guest experience, the park limits daily attendance. ■
