Huge Rain Forest Tree for Oberhausen / Germany

The industrial monument and Ruhr-Event-Center Gasometer in Oberhausen, Germany will see the installation of a 40-meter high replica of a Rain Forest tree. The tree’s branches will already be between eleven and 13 meter long, whereas the treetop will have a weight of 2.2 tons. This very realistic replica will be placed in the center of the 100 meter high exhibit hall and part of the Gasometer’s exhibition called “Magische Orte” (“Magical Places”). As “Tree of Life”, the sculpture will be a symbol for beauty and fertility but also for the vulnerability of Nature’s cycle. (eap)
