Karls Launches 24-Hour Roller Coaster Challenge for Charity

Following the opening of the first “Bettys Beerchen Boomerang” coaster in Döbeln in July (pictured), an identical model is now making its debut at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal – accompanied by a 24-hour fundraising challenge.

(eap) Today, 16 October, at 11 am, a special fundraising event kicks off at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal in Germany: Karls CEO Robert Dahl and nine influencers attempt to complete as many rides as possible on the new “Bettys Beerchen Boomerang” roller coaster over a 24-hour period, raising money for a good cause.

For every ride completed, Robert Dahl will personally donate ten euros per challenge participant. As long as all ten riders, including Dahl himself, remain on board, this amounts to 100 euros per ride. At an average of 15 rides per hour, the challenge could generate around 1,500 euros in donations per hour. The final amount raised will depend on how long the participants manage to keep going. Regular park visitors can also join the fundraising effort: Until 7 pm, they will have the opportunity to ride the roller coaster alongside the challenge participants for seven euros per ride. All proceeds from these rides will go to “Karls für alle – Die Robert Dahl Stiftung für Inklusion” (Robert Dahl Foundation for Inclusion).

The 24-hour challenge will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, 17 October, at 11 am with the official opening of Bettys Beerchen Boomerang. From then on, the new roller coaster will be available to all visitors under the regular admission conditions, with access included in day and annual passes or available through individual ride tickets.

The first Bettys Beerchen Boomerang Family Boomerang Coaster, supplied by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, opened at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Döbeln in the German state of Saxony in early July. Read more about the attraction in EAP issue 5/2026. ■
