New Family Roller Coaster Announced for Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Oberhausen

(eap) A new Karls Erlebnis-Dorf opened in Oberhausen, Germany, near Westfield Centro just this summer – the group’s first-ever location in North Rhine-Westphalia (see EAP 5/2026). Today, owner Robert Dahl was pleased to announce the next major attraction for the site: a roller coaster.

A Family Launch Coaster from ART Engineering, named “Karlchens Zugabe” (Karlchen’s Encore), is scheduled to open for Easter 2027. Its station building will be designed in the style of a 1990s boombox, reflecting a music theme. According to Dahl, the contracts have already been signed. Discussions with the city of Oberhausen are already underway, while the construction documents are currently being worked out.

Dahl cited the positive visitor response and the resulting long waiting times guests already face at the park as the reason for the new coaster. The ride is therefore intended to increase the capacity of the park’s attraction offering. A small-scale food and beverage concept is also planned and will be introduced alongside the new attraction.
