Ketteler Hof Expands Indoor Hall and Play Offering

(eap) Construction work has recently begun on an extension to the indoor hall at Ketteler Hof adventure park in Haltern am See, Germany. Over the coming months, additional indoor seating areas will be created to improve the quality of visitors’ stay, particularly during the winter months. To this end, an outdoor area covering around 140 square metres will be fully enclosed. The structural work on the hall extension is being carried out together with Brüninghoff, based in Heiden, and is scheduled for completion in November this year.

At the same time, the park is also expanding its indoor play offering. In cooperation with ESF Emsland Spiel- und Freizeitgeräte, three new climbing towers are being created in the Africa-themed area, comprising a baobab tree and two play huts connected by nets and bridges. The area will also be enhanced with an extension to the existing meerkat mound as well as additional decorative theming elements. In the long term, further play attractions are planned for the indoor park.

Other new additions at Ketteler Hof this season include an XXL marble run in the Western Village, which is intended to be expanded in future with further sections along pathways throughout the park. In addition, the third construction phase of the “Sommer, Sonne, Strand & Meer” (Summer, Sun, Beach & Sea) themed area has opened. While the first two sections, which opened last year, focus primarily on getting wet, the new area puts water itself at the centre of the play experience. At around 20 stations, children can redirect and dam water, power water wheels or alter the course of different water channels. This has created an interactive play experience that is also intended to remain attractive on cooler days. In addition to standard components supplied by Roigk and Richter Spielgeräte, numerous water-play elements were developed specifically for the project. ■
