(eap) accesso Technology Group, a provider of software solutions for leisure facilities and attractions, has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer: Lee Cowie (pictured here), who most recently served as the company’s COO, is taking over the position from Steve Brown, who founded the company in 2008 and is now stepping down as planned.
Lee Cowie has been with accesso for more than a year (cf. EAP news of 18 Mar 2025), previous professional roles included several years with British operator Merlin Entertainments as Chief Technology Officer and Group Programme Director. In total, Cowie can look back on around 15 years of experience in technology-focused leadership positions, which he will also bring to his new role at accesso. With more than 1,100 venues in 31 countries that, according to the company, are currently among its customers – with the sectors served ranging from the leisure industry and entertainment sector to ski resorts and hospitality facilities – accesso is regarded as one of the internationally established providers of software and visitor management systems.
“This transition has been carefully planned, and I’m leaving the business in very good hands. Accesso has a strong foundation, a talented team and expanding data intelligence capabilities that position it well for its next phase of growth. Lee’s deep experience in this industry, his unique view as a former client, and his understanding of what operators need, makes him the right person to lead the business forward,” said Steve Brown, outgoing CEO, accesso.
Lee Cowie commented, “Accesso has spent 25 years building the infrastructure and ecosystem that operators trust with the moments that matter most. My focus from here is on making that infrastructure more intelligent, more connected, and simpler for the operators and visitors who depend on it. The AI era is coming into our industry, and we are ready for it.”
Just recently, accesso Technology Group acquired the New Zealand-based company Dexibit, which has developed an AI-based data platform for visitor attractions. As part of the acquisition, the new solution “accesso Intelligence” was introduced (cf. EAP News of 31 Mar 2026). ■
