Maya mare Closes For Extensive Modernization

(eap) Maya mare in Halle (Saale) will remain open to guests until September 14 – from September 15, the Mexican-themed bathing and sauna paradise will be closed for extensive renovation and modernization work until mid-December. Around eight million euros will be invested in the renovation and refurbishment of the facility. “The decision to close is by no means an easy one, but it is necessary given the scope of the planned renovation and modernization measures,” says Melanie Heinrichs, commercial manager of Maya mare. “With the planned investments, we are not only creating an improved bathing and sauna experience, but also setting an example for sustainable and energy-efficient leisure activities in Halle (Saale).”

The most important measures include the construction of a completely new slide world, the renovation of the sanitary facilities throughout the bathing area, the new theming of two existing sweat facilities in the sauna area, the renovation of the ventilation systems, and new LED lighting in the swimming pool area. With these measures, Maya mare, a company owned by Stadtwerke Halle, aims to position itself for the future – for greater visitor satisfaction, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Between 15 and 20 different companies will need to be coordinated simultaneously on the “large construction site” at times. The Viva mare fitness club will remain open during the renovation work. “Although many details of the construction work are already known, there are still a few surprises that we don’t want to reveal at this point,” says Melanie Heinrichs. What is certain, however, is that Maya mare will offer a unique experience for all age groups after its reopening. ■
