(eap) This summer, Movie Park Germany in Bottrop-Kirchhellen is celebrating its 30th anniversary (cf. EAP 3/2026). The film-themed park, which opened in 1996 and is part of the Parques Reunidos group, recently reached another milestone in its history: a family of four from the German state of Schleswig-Holstein became the park’s 40 millionth guests. The occasion was celebrated together with park mascots “S.A.M.” and “S.I.A.” and with plenty of confetti.
As a surprise, the family received an exclusive gift package including, among other things, a meal at “Trattoria Hollywood”, Speedy Passes and Platinum Season Passes for the current season and 2027. In addition, they can look forward to a weekend stay at the Tropical Islands Resort in Brandenburg.
“40 million guests mean far more to us than just a number – they represent 40 million personal experiences, memories and the trust our visitors have placed in us over many years,” said Manuel Prossotowicz, Director Marketing & Sales, who was on site for the special milestone. “This moment fills us with great pride and shows that our commitment to offering our guests new, cinematic experiences time and again is appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who has been part of our history and accompanied us along the way.”
The amusement park also used the visitor milestone as an opportunity to donate a total of 40,000 euros to charitable causes. The donations are being made through the Four Wings Foundation, which was established by the operator group. A total of 10,000 euros each will go the SOS Children’s Village Essen, the PRO Kinderklinik e.V. support association of Marienhospital Bottrop and the Manuel Neuer Kids Foundation with its MANUS facilities in Gelsenkirchen and Bottrop. A further 10,000 euros will go directly to the Four Wings Foundation.
As park spokesperson and Social Impact Manager Ann-Katrin Dölken explains, Movie Park intends to further expand its cooperation with the foundation in the future ad add an additional family-oriented focus. Cooperation with local associations and organizations is also planned. ■
