Netherlands: Wildlands Adventure Zoo to Surprise Visitors with New Attraction in 2018

Since September Dutch Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen has been working on the expansion of its African theme area “Serenga“. A new attraction will be added to the theme area with an opening scheduled for spring 2018. Up until now, the zoo has remained silent about what kind of attraction it is. Yesterday, the topping-out ceremony for one of the buildings that will be part of the new attraction was held.

Between 35 and 40 local companies are involved in the creation of the new attraction. Once again Wildlands is working together with rollercoaster manufacturer Vekoma, with whom the zoo had already cooperated in the past. Theme park attractions are nothing new for the zoo – a 4-D motion ride and a 300 meter long boat ride are already on offer at Wildlands since its inauguration in 2016 (cp. EAP 4/2016).
