New 4D Show “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” at Animal Kingdom
(eap) At Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando, Florida), visitors can now experience a new attraction that ties in with the upcoming theatrical release of “Zootopia 2” (German title: “Zoomania 2”) on November 26. The nine-minute 4D show “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” is presented at the “Tree of Life Theater” in the “Discovery Island” area of the park and is designed to immerse guests in the world of the animal metropolis through multisensory effects such as sounds, scents, and surprising special effects.
Using 3D glasses, the familiar characters from Zootopia and the upcoming sequel appear to “leap off the screen” – except for officer “Benjamin Clawhauser”, who comes to life in the theater as a new Audio-Animatronics figure. The original voice actors from the films, including Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, were brought back for the attraction. In addition, filmmakers Jared Bush (screenplay) and Byron Howard (direction) were involved, working closely with the Walt Disney Imagineering team under the leadership of Senior Creative Director Danny Handke.
The Shanghai Disney Resort is also preparing for the upcoming movie’s release: Its “Zootopia” themed land, which opened in 2023, will be expanded with new decorations, specially designed entertainment offerings, and limited-time experiences inspired by the sequel’s storyline. The new features at the park are set to debut on November 18. ■
