(eap) The first Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in North Rhine-Westphalia opened today in the heart of Germany’s Ruhr region. The eighth location in Germany covers approximately 46,000 square metres in the immediate vicinity of Westfield Centro Oberhausen and offers a wide range of attractions, food and beverage outlets and shopping opportunities. Karls invested around 45 million euros in the construction of the park.

“With Oberhausen, we are fulfilling a dream that is very close to our hearts. We have wanted to bring Karls to North Rhine-Westphalia for a long time – and now we are opening our first location in the heart of the Ruhr region, right next to Westfield Centro. That is something truly special. We are not simply putting up a few attractions somewhere; we want to create a place where families can laugh, play, enjoy good food and simply escape from everyday life together. With plenty of strawberries, craftsmanship, attention to detail and, of course, a generous helping of crazy ideas. I am absolutely delighted that we now have the opportunity to bring this concept to life in the middle of a major city. I believe Oberhausen and Karls are a perfect match – down-to-earth, warm-hearted and always ready to offer a memorable experience,” says Robert Dahl, founder and owner of Karls.
