New Outdoor Park FUNSPACE Flachau Opens in Austria

(eap) A new outdoor leisure attraction opened in the Austrian municipality of Flachau in the state of Salzburg on Friday, 31 July. FUNSPACE Flachau is intended to serve as a new summer attraction in the ski area and bring together people of all ages. “What makes Funspace Flachau special is its variety. Those looking for action will find plenty of it, while those who prefer to relax will find their place, too. And most people ultimately enjoy a little of both,” explains Andreas Fischbacher, Managing Director of Flachau Tourism, describing the concept behind the new adventure park.

While the ninja course, Fly-Line (FLY-LINE GmbH) and Boulder Alm (ArtRock Kletterwände GmbH) offer sporting challenges, the yoga platforms provide a more mindful experience. Further highlights include a tubing facility supplied by Sunkid, various marble runs, hillside slides and a water play area. In between, visitors can take spontaneous breaks in the relaxation areas beneath sun sails or stop by the F&B outlet. The ninja warrior course, marble runs and other playgrounds were implemented by AGROPAC – Holzwerke & Handelsges.m.b.H. & Co. KG. The new play landscape was planned and implemented by experience design specialist pronatour. Salzburg-based company Axess supplied the access control system.
“Ultimately, Funspace Flachau is all about what makes a summer’s day in Flachau’s mountain landscape so special: spending time outdoors together, trying something new and enjoying memorable moments that arise entirely spontaneously. It is not a programme to be ticked off, but a place where the day is simply allowed to unfold,” highlights Elias Perkmann, Head of Marketing and Events at Flachau Tourism.
