(eap) After invited guests were given a first glimpse during an exclusive preview event earlier this week, the new Great Tides Waterpark officially opens today on “Great Stirrup Cay”, the approximately 109-hectare private island of US cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL). The 2.5-hectare water park in the Bahamas offers everything from action-packed attractions to relaxing lagoon experiences.

Highlights include a total of 19 water slides, eight of which start from the approximately 52-metre-high “Tidal Tower”. Further attractions include the around 240-metre-long “Wandering River”, featuring a tunnel section and the “Floataway Bar” swim-up bar, the “Cliffside Cove” cliff-jumping attraction and “Splash Cay”, a water play area designed for families with children. WhiteWater supplied water slide attractions as well as the equipment for the family-friendly water play area.

For those looking to relax, the offering includes the adults-only “Vibe Shore Club”, featuring premium loungers and a private bar. A diverse culinary offering rounds off a visit to the water park, access to which is reserved exclusively for NCL passengers and requires an additional fee. ■
