(eap) The groundbreaking ceremony for the new hotel complex at the Tropical Islands resort in Brandenburg, which will be called “OHANA Lodge”, was recently held in the presence of Brandenburg’s Minister President Dr Dietmar Woidke. In EAP issue 3/2023, we already reported on current developments at the tropical water park, which is part of the Parques Reunidos Group. At that time, we spoke with Tropical Islands Managing Director Chris Jung also about the second hotel connected to the hall, which will be built by 2024 with an investment volume of 25 million euros. The hotel is coming up on the east side of the huge hall and will offer a total of 150 accommodation units of up to 36 square meters in size. This will create 500 additional beds for overnight guests. Guests can look forward to stylish themed rooms with a Polynesian-Hawaiian look and feel, first-class restaurants and bars, and many new leisure offerings, including six bowling alleys.

“The sand of the Mark Brandenburg and the tropical sand of Tropical Islands are proving to be a great mix. Because just like the state of Brandenburg, Tropical Islands has also undergone an impressive development in recent years,” says Minister President Woidke. “It is a tourist and economic asset for our guests from near and far. I would especially like to thank the employees, who are important ambassadors for our region with their hospitality,” he continued.

The new hotel is being built using a modular construction method and is being realized by Volumetric Building Companies (VBC). The use of environmentally friendly materials and the integration of energy-efficient solutions in the implementation of the new hotel are intended to further strengthen Tropical Islands’ approach to sustainability. ■
