(eap) Parc Astérix, located north of Paris, is expanding its seasonal offer and presenting a new evening show for its summer entertainment programme under the name “Astérix et la Potion d’Étoiles” (Eng.: Astérix and the Star Potion). From 11 July, visitors will be able to experience the production daily at around 10 p.m. above the park’s lake. The show combines drones, lasers, water projections, pyrotechnics and video projections to create a large-scale multimedia spectacle centred around the well-known characters from the world of Astérix comics.
The show will see characters such as Astérix, Obélix, Dogmatix, Vitalstatistix and Getafix appear as animated images in the sky. According to the park, the production uses more than 370 drones, multi-coloured lasers, 60 water fountains reaching heights of up to 20 metres, a water screen, over 150 projectors and 2,500 pyrotechnic effects. The implementation is based on precise 3D modelling and was developed over several months. Companies involved in the project included Magic Drone, Fêtes et Feux, TobeConfirm, Dimmer, Crystal Groupe and Laser System Europe.

The park has also further developed its Egyptian themed area. The Rapid River attraction previously known as “Oxygénarium” now bears the name “La Descente du Nil” (Eng.: The Descent of the Nile) and has been redesigned. With new decorations an a themed queue area, the water ride now takes visitors on a journey along the Nile. The “Chaises Volantes” wave swinger has also received a new name: as “L’Envol d’Ibis” (Eng.: The Flight of the Ibis), the ride lets guests fly over a newly redesigned water garden at a height of around ten metres. With “Les Offrandes de Clépâtre” (Eng.: Cleopatra’s Offerings), a show format is also returning in revised form to the forecourt of the “OzIris” roller coaster.

Various drinks are also available here, including a signature cocktail and homemade mint tea. ■
