(eap) The multi-award-winning experience gastronomy Eatrenalin at Europa-Park Resort has a new culinary director: Peter Hagen-Wiest, two-star chef at Ammolite – The Lighthouse Restaurant (also at Europa-Park Resort), will spearhead the culinary developments for the multi-sensory gastronomy concept in addition to his existing responsibilities. There will be a foretaste this week, on May 23 and 24, as part of the “Eatrenalin’s Chef’s Special”, when Hagen-Wiest will present a creation made from seasonal, regional and international products. Visitors can look forward to his first regular Eatrenalin menu from the beginning of September.
Hagen-Wiest comes from Bregenz (Austria) and completed his training at Hotel Messmer. His professional career has taken him to the Schwarzwaldstube in Baiersbronn, the Vila Joya in Portugal and the Cheval Blanc in Basel. The catering establishements have shaped his current focus on classic French cuisine with international influences.
“Together with Peter Hagen-Wiest, we have created the Ammolite, a place that stands for culinary excellence far beyond the borders of Europa-Park. His ability to combine classic techniques with modern influences and his tireless demand for quality and innovation make him one of the most important chefs in Germany. We are very happy that he is now also responsible for the culinary direction of Eatrenalin,” explains Thomas Mack, Managing Director of Eatrenalin and Managing Partner of Europa-Park.
Peter Hagen-Wiest has followed and advised on the development of the Eatrenalin fine dining experience from the very beginning. “The concept is absolutely innovative, especially due to the multi-sensory aspects, and at the same time demands culinary delights of the highest standard. I am therefore delighted to be able to contribute my gastronomic expertise here as well as at Ammolite. An absolutely exciting project!” says Hagen-Wiest.
As part of this year’s IAAPA Honors event, which was held at Europa-Park Resort (see EAP-News of 02.05.25), Thomas Mack presented a new dark ride dining concept. This is to serve as the basis for extraordinary dining experiences in the future at theme parks worldwide. More about the stand-alone restaurant attraction Eatrenalin can be read in the cover story of EAP issue 6/2022. ■
