PortAventura Opens New Waterpark Area “Coral Bay”
(eap) Yesterday saw the opening of “Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida”, a new themed area at PortAventura World’s Caribe Aquatic Park in Spain. Inspired by the legend of an ancient sunken pirate bay rising back up from the depths of the ocean, the new water park area spans 5,000 square metres and transports visitors into a world of adventure, exploration and mystery.
The main attractions include “Cyclone”, the world’s second and Europe’s first Family Water Coaster of its kind, as well as “The Crab”, a slide tower featuring five different water slides for the whole family. The attractions were supplied by Ottawa-based company ProSlide Technology. Further aquatic fun is provided by “Bahía Pirata”, the world’s first AquaAdrenaline™ play structure from WhiteWater, as well as “Splash Port”, an interactive water play area for children. Completing the offering is “El Bucanero”, a dedicated food and beverage outlet themed to match the area.
There will also soon be something new to discover at the neighbouring PortAventura Park: On 30 July, “Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek”, a new adventure trail, will open in the “Polynesia” themed area.
