PortAventura Set to Open Revamped Waterpark

The Spanish leisure resort PortAventura announced the complete renovation and extension of its existing waterpark at the beginning of this year. The new “Costa Caribe Aquatic Park” will have been enlarged by an area of 14,000 square meters and will feature new water rides and attractions as of this summer. The highlight of the new aquatic park will undoubtedly be – at a height of 31 meters – the highest free fall waterslide of Europe. Another new waterslide will start from the same tower, a Multi Bump slide. The third new slide will be a six-lane ProRacer – all three of the attractions will be supplied by ProSlide. A pirate ship with four slides and Sesame Street characters on board will await younger guests. Next to a children’s pool there will also be a Splash Pad with interactive water effects. A tropical pool for adults will complement the offer. Additionally, the waterpark will get a Caribbean theme with great green areas and more than 50 plant species and palms. The total investment for the renovation amounts to ten million Euros and the park will be open in May. (eap)
