(eap) The history-themed show park Puy du Fou España in Toledo will present its new Christmas show, “La Alegría de la Navidad” (Eng.: “The Joy of Christmas”), from 28 November. The production promises to bring the traditional origins and spirit of Christmas to life on stage. Visitors will also once again be able to explore a Christmas market in the park, while younger guests can look forward to meeting the Three Wise Men. Additional musical entertainment will be provided by the fifth edition of the choir competition organised by Puy du Fou España, bringing together children’s choirs from across the country to help create a festive atmosphere in the park through their performances.

The new Christmas show will be staged against the backdrop of the evening spectacular “El Sueño de Toledo”, which covers an area of around five hectares and has seating for up to 7,000 spectators. In a 45-minute performance, more than 120 actors and performers will tell the story of Christmas based on traditional accounts. The production begins with Moses leading his people to freedom, takes audiences through the era of the Roman Empire and culminates in the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. Performances will take place in the evenings, with two consecutive shows scheduled for each day the park is open.

The stalls will offer handicrafts, souvenirs and traditional Christmas specialities. A more exclusive culinary experience will be available in the form of a specially created Christmas menu. A particular highlight for children will be the opportunity to meet the Three Wise Men, who will be on hand to collect their Christmas wish lists. According to Spanish Christmas tradition, it is the Three Wise Men who bring presents on the night of 5 to 6 January (Epiphany).

It will be based on the concept of the “Le Mime et L’Étoile” show at Puy du Fou France (c.f. EAP issue no. 3/2023). ■
