Qiddiya City: Aquarabia Water Park Enters Soft-Opening Phase
(eap) The new Aquarabia Qiddiya City water park in Saudi Arabia has entered its soft-opening phase. Covering more than 250,000 square metres, the destination offers a diverse range of entertainment with over 22 water slides, rides and attractions. At the same time, Aquarabia further expands the leisure offering in Qiddiya City, where the first Six Flags theme park outside North and Central America has only recently opened. As another prestige project in the development of Saudi Arabia’s leisure and entertainment industry, Aquarabia also features several record-breaking attractions and innovations.

Aquarabia is divided into eight themed zones inspired by the region’s natural environment and wildlife. The experience offering includes, among others, four record-breaking water slides manufactured by Canadian supplier WhiteWater West – the main project partner outfitter of the new water park. Among them is “Junoon Drop” in the “Camel Rock” area: a Family Master Blaster which, according to official information, is the “world’s tallest and longest” installation of this product type (with a height of over 42 metres). A special feature of the attraction are its boats for up to seven guests each, which also allow visitors to ride in everyday clothing rather than swimwear while remaining largely dry.

In the “Viper Canyon” area, park guests can experience the world’s first underwater “Aquaticars” attraction by Sub Sea Systems, as well as a “SlideWheel®” and a “Shoot the Chute” ride, the latter featuring a 15-metre drop for a powerful splash. In the “Wave Wadi” themed zone, “Wadi Tahaddi” offers a Spinning Rapids Ride experience in boats for up to six people. In addition to this attraction, WhiteWater has also equipped the area with a wave pool.

Furthermore, Aquarabia includes the “Surf Lagoon” with a surf pool by the Endless Surf brand, enabling different wave heights and intensities to cater equally to beginners, intermediates and professionals. Last but not least, there is also a large water play structure appealing to the younger guests.
“Aquarabia Qiddiya City is the kind of project that shows why breadth of experience matters. This park brings together record-breaking slides, water rides, surf experiences, custom ride vehicles, and complex engineering across a single destination. Projects at this scale cannot be delivered as disconnected pieces. […]”, said Geoff Chutter, CEO of WhiteWater, commenting on the scale of the new water park destination.
