Rulantica Launches Seasonal “Nordic Festival of Lights” Once Again

(eap) Visitors to the Rulantica water world at Europa-Park Resort can look forward to a special event from today until 27 March: the “Nordic Festival of Lights”. As part of the event, the indoor and outdoor water world will be staged through an expanded lighting and entertainment concept, complemented by a new show production.

A central element of the staging is the atmospheric design of various experience areas. The indoor pool Skog Lagune shines in Nordic shades of green and blue, while Snorri’s Saga, decorated with strings of lights, invites guests to enjoy a leisurely tour through Rulantica in illuminated tubes. The Surf Fjørd wave pool is also decoratively lit, and glowing beacons blaze around the heated outdoor pool Frigg Tempel, while the Hyggedal sauna and wellness area is atmospherically staged in the glow of numerous LED candles and is set to provide moments of well-being with special sauna infusions.

The accompanying entertainment program of the Nordic Festival of Lights includes, among other elements, the video-mapping show “Magisk Retur”, which animates the façade of the Vinterhal every evening. In addition, the show “Rulantica Magic Bubbles”, featuring shimmering soap bubbles, complements the program, while the marionette show “Marina Lumina” is aimed in particular at younger visitors and thematically takes up the story of the Festival of Lights.

For younger guests, there is also a treasure hunt for the “Magical Glowing Crystal” as well as the opportunity to craft their own Snorri lantern. In the evening hours, walking acts in illuminated costumes add to the atmosphere in the hall. As the entertainment highlight of this year’s Nordic Festival of Lights, the evening show “NORDLYS – Polar Illumination” has been announced. In this context, the Surf Fjørd wave pool is transformed into a stage for light installations, visual effects and aerial acrobatics above the water.

In addition, there are several special dates. Rulantica will remain open until midnight on Saturday, 7 February, combining the nighttime bathing experience with additional show and party elements. On Valentine’s Day, 14 February, special sauna infusions and further surprises are planned. From 21 February to 1 March, the Hyggedal sauna and wellness area will be entirely dedicated to the Scandinavian Sauna Week, featuring additional infusions. ■
