SimEx-Iwerks Expands Portfolio with Nature-Based Attractions

(eap) The US-based company SimEx-Iwerks, specialized in 3D/4D cinema attractions, motion simulators and flying theaters, has introduced a new portfolio segment under the name “Nature Attractions”. This new product line focuses on nature-based attractions designed to encourage playful exploration and active play.

Gerhard Komenda, who joins SimEx-Iwerks as Director of Nature Attractions, will head up the new business division. With more than two decades of experience in designing and building outdoor experiences, Komenda brings a wealth of expertise in eco-conscious construction, natural materials and guest-centered adventure design. SimEx-Iwerks has been working with Komenda for several years already, including projects such as the design and installation of “Arial Adventure Parks” at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and the “Nature Trek” at the Bronx Zoo.

With this addition, SimEx-Iwerks widens its expertise beyond cinematic storytelling into nature-based, physical world attractions. ■
