Spain: Terra Mítica Opened Grand Luxor Hotel

The Spanish amusement park Terra Mítica recently opened the Grand Luxor Hotel as its first themed hotel (c.f. EAP news from September 14th, 2015). The four-star facility, which is operated by Grupo Santamaría, offers a total of 300 rooms, of which 84 belong to the “suite” category – starting with a room size of 33 square meters up to 76 square meters. The remaining 216 rooms are of 30 square meters each. Furthermore, the luxury new complex disposes of a modern spa and wellness area, a gym, two restaurants and of a large outdoor area with swimming pools and gardens. The Grand Luxor Hotel is located directly in the park’s Egypt-themed area and is designed in a Mediterranean style with Egyptian influence. Terra Mítica expects an occupancy rate of more than 80% during the first days. With the new hotel the park aims to pursue its target of making the resort more attractive for events, congresses and conventions and to meet the visitors’ demand for accommodation. (eap)
