Stephen T. Cavit Elected as Future President of the TEA Board

(eap) The members of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) – the international association representing creatives in the leisure and entertainment industry – have elected Stephen Thomas Cavit as President-Elect of the TEA International Board. Cavit will assume the office of President on January 1, 2027, leading the association’s board and its strategic direction. From January 1, 2026, Cavit will serve as President-Elect on the TEA Executive Committee. He will continue in his role as TEA Divisional President for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, a position he has held since 2024.

As co-founder and CEO of TruSound International, Cavit is internationally recognized for his expertise in audio production, creative direction, and technological innovation. In addition to his work in audio technology, Cavit has pursued a successful career in the music industry and has been honored for his pioneering work and creative approach to the use of sound in themed environments and experiences with three Emmy Awards, a Thea Award, and an IAAPA Brass Ring Award.

“Stephen is an excellent choice to take on the role of President-Elect. I have had the pleasure of working closely with him over the past year in his role as President of the APAC Division, and it is clear that he brings international awareness, diplomacy, and strategic vision. As I enter my second and final year as President, I look forward to continuing to work with Stephen throughout 2026,” emphasized Matt Barton, current President of the TEA International Board.

“Working with Matt and TEA’s leadership over the past many years has been a great privilege. The team is impressively earnest, talented, and dedicated to the association’s membership. I am eager to share my energy and enthusiasm with TEA’s global community as we expand into adjacent industries and new, underrepresented, regions. I’m humbled by the opportunity to positively impact our membership through TEA’s high-quality programming, educational initiatives, and focus on providing individual career advancement,” Cavit said.

In November, TEA announced the full list of newly elected members of its International Board of Directors and the regional Divisional Boards (see EAP news of 24 Nov 2025). ■
