(eap) A new attraction recently opened at the Hochfuegen ski resort in Austria’s Zillertal valley, offering families an additional mountain experience during the summer months: On a new summer tubing track, both children and adults can ride downhill in large tubes along an artificial surface before returning to the starting point via a conveyor lift.

The tubing track was installed at an altitude of around 1,500 metres, allowing riders to enjoy views of the surrounding Alpine panorama during their descent. Right at the beginning of the course, riders cross a 65-centimetre-high mini ramp in their tubes, followed by straight sections featuring several gentle bumps as well as three wide banked turns.

According to manufacturer Neveplast, the final configuration of the track layout was only defined during the on-site installation works in order to adapt the route harmoniously to the natural morphology of the terrain while at the same time ensuring optimal speed management throughout the descent. ■
