USA: Numerous Six Flags Parks to Resume Operation Until End of May

As early as February 27th, the Hurricane Harbour Oaxtepec water park in Mexico welcomed back its first visitors. From that date until April 24th, 13 more Six Flags-operated water and thrill parks welcomed back guests – most recently Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. As the group now announced, 12 remaining leisure destinations in the U.S. and Mexico of the Six Flags brand will also resume guest operations by the end of May. The only exception is La Ronde in Quebec, Canada, which will remain closed. “With today’s announcement, 26 of 27 parks will be welcoming guests this season. The safety of our guests and team members continues to be our highest priority, and we look forward to announcing an opening date for our theme park in Canada in the near future,” comments Bonnie Weber, Senior Vice President of Park Operations.

Six Flags New England, amongst others, will open to members and season pass holders on May 14 and to the general public on May 15th. Guests will be able to enjoy the new “Dinosaurs: A Walk Thru Experience” at the park as of May 23rd. Safety measures at all parks include mandatory masks for the staff and guest over the age of two. Also, contactless temperature screens, bag checks and payment opportunies have been implemented in the facilities. Additionally, restrooms and other high touch points will the cleaned and sanitized frequently, and the team members will go through extensive Covid-19 training. (eap)
