USA: Universal Orlando with Further Expansion Plans?

With future expansion projects in mind, Universal Orlando has bought a more than 40 hectare (101 acres) property at Orlando’s Sand Lake Road at a purchase price of approx. 23.6 million Euro (27.5 million US Dollar), according to recent media reports. The land is adjacent to the 192 hectare (475 acre) large site which Universal had already bought back in 2015, north of Universal Boulevard and west of Destination Parkway.

In total, Universal now disposes some 230 hectare (576 acres) of land, which can be used for future expansions and major projects – a property more than two times larger than the property it currently owns and operates at Universal Orlando Resort, home to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and the all-new Volcano Bay water theme park (cp.
