Universal Beijing Resort Announces New Fast & Furious Thrill Ride
Under the theme “UBR’s 5th Anniversary, Infinitely Your Way”, team members, partners, park characters, and invited guests gathered to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Universal Beijing Resort.
(eap) As part of the celebrations marking its fifth anniversary, Universal Beijing Resort, which opened in 2021, has announced plans to develop two new attractions: Asia’s first Fast & Furious-themed indoor thrill ride and a new nighttime spectacular at the lagoon. With the two additions, the resort aims to further expand its attraction and entertainment portfolio.

The new Fast & Furious indoor attraction is being developed specifically for the Chinese Universal resort. The fully indoor ride is designed to translate the high-speed chases, action-packed scenes and energetic atmosphere characteristic of the film franchise into a themed ride experience. It is based on Universal Pictures’ USD seven billion franchise, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Just yesterday, the new “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” roller coaster officially opened at Universal Studios Hollywood (read more in our latest EAP issue 5/2026).
The lagoon at the heart of Universal Studios Beijing is also set to gain a new attraction. The planned nighttime spectacular is intended to offer guests a new way to experience the theme park after dark. The centrally located lagoon connects several themed areas and also serves as a place for guests to linger and gather. The new production will combine light, music, storytelling and live interaction to bring together stories from different areas of the resort against the backdrop of the water and surrounding themed environments. ■
