Universal Reveals Further Details of New Kids Resort in Texas
(eap) Universal Destinations & Experiences has released further details about its Universal Kids Resort, currently under construction in Frisco, Texas, and scheduled to open next year. After the company had already announced which IPs will be featured in the new resort specifically designed for families with younger children earlier this year (see EAP News from 24 Feb 25), the operator has now unveiled the names of the seven themed areas as well as first renderings of selected attractions.

Guests will enter the park through the “Isle of Curiosity”, a creatively designed gateway area intended to invite children to explore and discover. Here, they will have the chance to meet “Gabby2 from “DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse” during a meet & greet or a dance party.
In “DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp”, “Shrek’s” hut is transformed into a water-filled play paradise. In addition to photo opportunities with Shrek and “Fiona” – for example in the “onion carriage” – two interactive play areas (“Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp” and “Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash”) invite children to climb, jump and splash around.
Another themed land, “DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar”, will feature encounters with the fearless feline hero himself, along with “Mama Luna” and “Perrito”. Two interactive game stations, “Barriles de Leche” and “El Gato’s Meow”, complete the experience.

In “Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club”, families can look forward to a rafting adventure in which the yellow Minions try to keep their purple counterparts under control. A meet & greet and an interactive play zone complement the attraction.
At the “Jurassic World Adventure Camp”, visitors will be able to see newly hatched dinosaur babies and explore the “Lookout Towers” playground, offering a Pteranodon’s-eye view over the park.
More fun awaits at “DreamWorks TrollsFest”, where families can meet “Poppy”, Branch and the rest of the Trolls crew. Two themed play areas – “Poppy’s Playland” and “Trolls Critter Crawl” – promise Troll-style interactive entertainment.

An underwater experience will be offered at “Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom”, where guests can meet “SpongeBob”, “Patrick” and “Sandy”. The themed areas “Mussel Beach” and “Pineapple Paradise” provide additional opportunities for play and relaxation.
Adjacent to the park, the Universal Kids Resort Hotel with around 300 rooms will offer accommodation for families just steps away from the themed worlds. ■
