(eap) The US water park Water World Colorado, operated by Hyland Hills Parks and Recreation District north of Denver, will open its all-new “Summit Canyon” area this summer featuring four large-scale water slides, pools for both relaxation and active play, a children’s area, new F&B options and a lighting system for after-hours events.
The four new water slides will all be supplied by Canadian manufacturer ProSlide and will comprise two tube slides as well as two body slides. The tube slides, which can be ridden either by two people or individually, will include “Marmot Mayhem” – a HIVE™ slide with a length of 384.9 feet (around 115 metres) and two open-air 360-degree helixes. The line-up will also include “Runoff Rapids”, a TORNADO 18 with a SwitchBACK element and a ride length of 515.8 feet (more than 150 metres).

The 427.2-foot (approx. 130-metre)-long “Aspen Falls” slide – a TurboTWISTER with a SkyBOX element – is set to offer a thrilling experience with a trapdoor start and a 70-degree drop from a 60-foot (18-metre)-tall platform. High speeds and high-banked curves are said to be offered by “Columbine Cascade” – also a TurboTWISTER – over a length of 520.8 feet (almost 160 metres).
In addition to the new slides, “Summit Canyon” will feature the “Emerald Lake” relaxation pool, which will offer in-pool seating and a waterfall feature. There will also be a range of attractions for younger guests: “Creekside Crossing”, an over-water obstacle course; “Puddle Dunker”, a 36-inch (90-centimetre)-deep pool with three in-water basketball hoops; and “Critter Cove”, an approx. 7,500-square-foot (almost 700-square-metre) children’s play area with spray and tipping water features as well as five kid-friendly slides.
A specific opening date is expected to be announced soon. ■
