(eap) Opened in 1985, Water World Lloret de Mar, located on Spain’s Costa Brava, has launched a new major water slide attraction called “Tornado King”. According to the Canadian manufacturer ProSlide Technology Inc., this installation marks “the first Double TornadoWAVE® 60 in Europe”.
Just in time for its 40th anniversary season, the water park has expanded its offering of high-performance, high-capacity attractions. The new slide begins from its own dedicated tower, which includes a conveyor lift system for the five-person rafts used by guests to ride the course. The experience starts with an enclosed, winding section that quickly transitions into an open flume and steep drop. Here, the rafts gain momentum to ascend the first of two “TornadoWAVE” elements. The ride then flows directly into the second wave element, followed by the final splashdown.

The opening of “Tornado King” follows last year’s debut of “Tornado Land”, a new children’s area and another key investment as part of the park’s long-term strategy to create experiences for all ages. Today, Water World Lloret de Mar features more than 20 attractions across an area of approximately 140,000 square meters. ■
