(eap) The Italian Movieland – The Hollywood Park, part of CanevaWorld Resort at Lake Garda, has recently opened its new themed area “Bugs Town”. Embedded in an original world inspired by the Wild West and populated by charming giant insects, the new area is primarily aimed at families. In total, “Bugs Town” comprises five attractions, two food & beverage outlets, a shop, and a specially developed live show.

“With Bugs Town, we wanted to bring to life a project capable of surprising and engaging our guests, combining creativity, passion, and a strongly Italian identity. The enthusiasm with which this new area has been welcomed is a source of great satisfaction for us and confirms the value of a vision that continues to evolve year after year,” said Fabio Amicabile, CEO of CanevaWorld Resort.
The rides in the new area include three attractions already existing in the park, which have been integrated into the expansion with new theming, as well as two new additions. The latter include “Driller”, which is supposed to be a second-hand installation of the “Apollo 14” product type by Schwarzkopf – a model of which only two units were ever realized worldwide. As part of the redesign, the characteristic planetary central structure of the chair swing ride was replaced by an oversized drill, and the seats were completely redesigned. The attraction is accessible from a height of 120 centimeters.

With “Eldorado Express”, a family-friendly novelty has also been introduced, which can be used from a height of 100 centimeters. The ride takes guests in mining carts along a guided track and thematically draws on motifs of the gold rush. Among the rethemed existing attractions are the log flume “Gran Canyon Steamer” (formerly “Troncosaurus”), the pirate ship ride “Iron Pick” (formerly “BC-10”), and the “Octopus” attraction, which will operate under the name “Casino” from now on. The offer is complemented by the live show “Once Upon a Time in Bugs Town”, which brings the most iconic characters of Bugs Town to the stage. For food and beverage, the “Saloon” and the “Buffalo Grill” are available, offering meals and snacks in a thematically fitting Western-style setting. In the “General Store”, visitors can also purchase themed souvenirs to round off their visit. ■
