(eap) On April 13, the Austrian FANTASIANA Erlebnispark at Straßwalchen near Salzburg starts into its new season. A number of new features await visitors this year. For example, there will be a new ball pool behind the Bear Theater and a new Wiegand slide behind the Ferris wheel. In the Fairytale Forest, a new “Mother Hulda” animatronic (from Hüttinger) is greeting visitors, which can make snow trickle through a foam machine when guests knock. Furthermore, there will be a small opening show in the entrance area of the Magic Village for the opening of the themed area from 11 am.

Also, in the Magic Village, the previous evening show “Unleash the light” will be presented in a new look with fireworks, sound (from IMAscore) and lighting design from summer on. There will also be a new soft ice cream stand and a water playground with fountains in the Action Area, which promises children a refreshing cool-down on warm days and will become a regular venue for small water shows. Moreover, a chapel is going to be built in memory of the park’s founder Erich Wagner († 2023). This is intended to create a peaceful atmosphere and invite people to reflect.

The new and existing attractions can now be explored even more easily online as Fantasiana is starting the season with a new website, which promises greater user-friendliness and a wealth of information about attractions, events and offers. Visitors can also plan their route through the park in advance using an interactive park map. Next year will see the opening of a new major attraction: a “Big Dipper” from Mack Rides, which will replace the “Wild Train” roller coaster. Hence, it will be the last chance for visitors to ride the family roller coaster this season. ■
