A Hurricane for Fårup Sommerland in Denmark

Fårup Sommerland, which recorded 600,000 visitors this season, has already announced a new attraction for the coming year. “Orkanen”, meaning hurricane resp. tornado, is the name of the new Suspended Coaster from Vekoma which is scheduled to open at the beginning of June 2013. The new coaster will be over 19 meters high and have a track length of 453 meters on which passengers can reach maximum speeds of 75km/h. Of course Orkanen will be a coaster for the whole family. “The Hurricane is exactly what rollercoaster enthusiasts have long suggested should be the next big attraction for Faarup Sommerland” explains Park Director Søren Kragelund. Passengers of the new attraction need to have a minimum size of 1.05 meters. (eap)
