ArkaZien: New Adventure Park Near Leipzig Opens in September

Die Tochter des Unternehmensgründers Günther Ziegler, wie auch zwei seiner Enkel, Jonathan und Elisabeth Jung, sind Teil des Unternehmens und machen ArkaZien zu einem echten Familienbetrieb.

(eap) On September 3rd, a new family adventure park named ArkaZien is set to open its doors in Beiersdorf, Germany, east of Leipzig. The new leisure facility is intended to immerse visitors of all ages in twenty interwoven themed areas and invite them to physical activity and discovery. Connected by winding paths, tunnels, rope bridges, climbing structures, and slides, there are numerous ways to explore the park.

The nature-inspired play structures were realized by Ziegler Spielplätze A-Z. Company owner Günther Ziegler, who is also the founder of ArkaZien, explained: “When I saw the site in Beiersdorf, I immediately knew: I’m going to build a family park here. It is meant to inspire both children and adults to imaginative play, to movement, and to dreaming. For over 30 years we have been building playground structures from robinia wood for half the world. Along the way, we built ArkaZien. Being able to open this year after such a long construction period makes us very proud and happy.”

Since 2012, Ziegler has been working with his creative team on the planning and gradual realization of the adventure park: carpenters, joiners, scenic painters, artistic blacksmiths, woodturners, landscape gardeners, costume designers, tailors, and many other creative craftspeople contributed to the creation of ArkaZien. “As a playground manufacturer, we are entering new territory with our amusement park. We want to use the first two opening months this year to gain experience in real-world operation,” said Ziegler. During this period, the plan is to operate with a limited number of around 1,500 visitors per day in order to gather operational experience.

Around 300 free car parking spaces and lockers will be available for visitors arriving on site. A food and beverage offering is also planned, which is to focus on handmade dishes – including classics such as pasta, pizza, crêpes, cake, and ice cream. ■
