China: Eontime World Opens New Attraction

This past August saw the opening of a new attraction at Eontime World. The amusement park built on the fourth floor of the Yongtai Mall in Harbin, China introduced a Maurer Spinning Coaster SC2000 named “Dragon Flight”. Compared to the classical version, the coaster at Eontime World features an additional slope chain lift as well as an extension of 140 meters in track length which leads to a total ride length of 570 meters. The attraction is a combination of roller coaster and dark ride. At a speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour, the ride time takes 140 seconds. With a total of eight carriages, each one providing space for four persons, a maximum capacity of 660 people per hour can be reached. The ride configuration is determined by random spinning depending on the weight distribution of the riders and the track layout- forwards, backwards and even sideways. The Chinese amusement park is the first of a number of planned Eontime World parks designed by US-based Thinkwell Group. (eap)
