(eap) The Dutch “World of Wonders” Efteling has presented the name and design of its new attraction announced for this winter in the renewed “Raveleijn” themed area. The new ride is called “Ravenring” and is said to be a prototype from Dutch manufacturer Vekoma. Located outside the “city walls” of Raveleijn, the attraction is designed to accommodate 36 riders, who take their seats in a total of 18 gondolas. During the ride, guests can control the tilt of the flying gondolas using a lever. Guests from a minimum height of one metre will be able to ride.

Thematically, Ravenring ties in with a flying ritual and as its name suggests ravens – the mysterious black birds that are closely connected to the world of Raveleijn. The new attraction is to be decorated with banners depicting the five magical elements characteristic of Raveleijn: water (blue), fire (red), wood (green), earth (brown) or metal (violet). At the end of the ride, guests will discover which of these elements suits them best.

Parallel to the new attraction, the show in Raveleijn is also being completely revised again. In collaboration with the French theme park Puy du Fou, a new storyline and special effects will be created. Further details about the new Raveleijn show and the exact opening date of the renewed themed area with Ravenring will be announced at a later date. ■
