(eap) Germany’s Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort has opened its 18th European themed area, “Monaco”, as well as further new features in the presence of invited guests and media representatives. The new themed area is located around the “Silver Star” roller coaster and is intended to make the Mediterranean flair and the diversity of the principality tangible. The new forecourt is already designed to invite visitors to linger in its Mediterranean atmosphere. Access to the 73-meter-high steel roller coaster now leads through an exotic garden inspired by Monaco’s “Jardin Exotique”. The Silver Star hall has also been extensively redesigned and equipped with detailed façades and authentic decorations.

The Principality can be experienced up close in various sub-areas: Among other things, a digital aquarium provides guests with interactive insights into the depths of the Mediterranean. On racing simulators, young and old become virtual racing drivers and experience the thrill of the Grand Prix circuit. In addition, a racing car exhibition featuring loans from the private collection of H.S.H. Prince Albert II can be explored. From a culinary perspective, the new “Café de Paris” invites guests to linger with aperitivos and sweet pastries.

The new area was realized in close partnership with the Principality, which was already involved in the concept development. “I am delighted about this exceptionally positive and valuable collaboration with the Princely House and Prince Albert. Monaco is one of the most fascinating countries in Europe. Our visitors can look forward to a wide range of attractions linked to the Principality, as well as the newly enhanced visitor experience in the area around the Silver Star,” explains Europa-Park owner Roland Mack. Guy Antognelli, Director of Tourism of Monaco, emphasizes: “The Principality of Monaco is delighted to be the 18th European country represented at Europa-Park. Visitors will gain an insight into the history of the Principality, as well as the diverse range of events that characterise Monaco throughout the year and make it such a special destination. The themed area showcases what makes Monaco unique by bringing together a variety of sectors, including sport, culture, business, gastronomy, lifestyle, innovation, and sustainability, all in one place.”

In addition to the new themed area, further offerings have been realized within the park and resort: With “Sallys Café”, a new gastronomic concept by food influencer Saliha “Sally” Özcan (“Sallys Welt”) has opened in the Icelandic themed area in the blue fire Dome, focusing on coffee and cake specialties. In the “Magic Cinema 4D”, the new animated film “SNORRI 4D – Catch Me If You Candy” will be shown, while the new comedy magic show “Wonderlab – Magic Out of Control” complements the show program at the “Globe Theater”.

The fine dining restaurant “Ammolite – House of Light” presents itself following a rebranding with a new entrance, a walk-in WineChamber and a revised design concept. In “Silver Lake City”, the “Riverside Western Lodge” with 119 rooms is scheduled to open from June. The offering is complemented by the “Silver Lake Brewery” as well as gastronomic venues such as the “Wild Horse Bar”. On “Main Street”, additional retail and food concepts are being introduced, including “Cold Rush – Western Ice Creams”, “Grandpa Will’s Hot Dogs” and a shop with 24/7 shopping facilities. In addition, the opening of the “Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes” is planned for early July; it is being developed in cooperation with the “RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” (RTL – We help children) foundation and is aimed at young people recovering from cancer.

Europa-Park officially kicks off the new season this coming Saturday. ■
