France: La Banque Populaire Acquires a Stake in French Vulcania Theme Park

As announced during an official press conference today, the Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes (BPAURA) will make a significant financial contribution to France’s Vulcania theme park by means of an equity investment. In order to help to promote the Auvergne region’s economic and tourist development in the future, the regional bank and the theme park will strategically work together to increase the park’s annual attendance from 300,000 to 500,000 guests within the next 15 years. The financial contribution of the regional bank is aimed at significantly contributing to the future success of the park. In this regard, the creation of three new theme worlds (“volcanism”, “natural phenomena” and “Earth in the universe”) as well as overnight accommodation on site are planned to be added to the park’s visitor offer. This step is intended at increasing the tourist appeal of the Auvergne region and at creating more jobs for Vulcania.

Before the park closes for its forthcoming winter break, the so-called “Dragon Weeks”, which will take place from 20 October to 4 November during the autumn holidays, invite guests to various events and activities, including special shows, performances and even a disguise campaign. The park will start into the new season on 20 March 2019 with new offerings. (eap)
