IAAPA Names Managing Partner of Europa-Park, Roland Mack, Third Vice Chair

Roland Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park, will be the first German to join the Board of Directors of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) as Third Vice Chair. In three years, he will automatically become Chairman of IAAPA. During the Euro Attractions Show in Munich, IAAPA Chairman Robert Masterson announced that the Board of Directors unanimously nominated Roland Mack to Third Vice Chair of IAAPA, which is based in Alexandria (Virginia, USA). As of 21 November 2008, he will thus be jointly responsible for the international strategic development of the leisure industry. He will attend to this task on a voluntary basis, while acting as a managing partner of Europa-Park. “My appointment to the board of IAAPA gives me great pleasure because I hope that this position will give me the opportunity to promote and support the European leisure industry within the IAAPA,” said Roland Mack after his appointment. With over one million employees, 773 million visitors annually and total sales of 24 billion US dollars, amusement parks all over the world have developed into an immensely important sector.
