Leolandia Spins into 55th Year with New Coaster “Reversum”

(eap) The family-run Italian theme park Leolandia is continuing its investment strategy: With “Reveяsum”, a new major attraction was opened at the park this past weekend. The new attraction is a spinning coaster by the German roller coaster manufacturer Mack Rides. During the opening ceremony, Giuseppe Ira, President of Leolandia, explained: “The story of this attraction has deep roots. From the moment we acquired the park in 2007, I was already looking ahead, with a clear vision:  create a major theme park dedicated to families.”

According to the park, Reveяsum is the most significant attraction ever realized at Leolandia. Its cars rotating during the ride would also make the coaster a unique experience in Italy. The family-friendly roller coaster has no inversions, features two trains and reaches an hourly capacity of 1,000 guests. Children may ride from a height of 105 centimetres when accompanied and from 130 centimetres on their own.

The new attraction is part of a three-year development plan with an investment of more than 30 million euros. The idea is to expand the park’s target group and, in particular, to appeal to families with older children up to the age of 14. This development includes the “Dragons and Legends” themed area, which opened in 2024, as well as the 20,000-square-metre “Crazy Circus” themed area, which opened in 2025 and has now been completed with the opening of Reveяsum. A total of 17 million euros was invested in the area.

In keeping with the circus theme, the design of the roller coaster cars is inspired by the aesthetics of historic circus trains, while the station and queue line are located under a twelve-metre-high, striped circus tent. After the ride, guests can purchase on-ride photos and themed merchandise items in a dedicated shop.

“Reveяsum brings to ten the number of high-adrenaline attractions in the park. We expect a ten percent increase in attendance by the end of the year. We have 55 years of history that reflects solidity and experience, and we continue to invest in the future, embracing new opportunities,” Ira said. The opening of Reveяsum also marks the start of the celebrations for the park’s 55th anniversary, which are set to culminate in July with a special anniversary programme. ■
