New “Volcano Wedgeee” Slide Duo Opens at Wet’n’Wild Hawaii
(eap) With “Volcano Wedgeee”, the Wet’n’Wild Hawaii water park opened a new main attraction this past Saturday: At a height of 70 feet (approx. 21 meters), two parallel AquaTube™ body slides from Canadian manufacturer WhiteWater West take off, providing fast-paced water fun at a top speed of 26 miles per hour (over 40 kilometers per hour).

Integrated “AquaLucent” elements provide the slide with visual effects. These include “Shaka” motifs specially designed for the Hawaiian location – inspired by the hand gesture common in Hawaii and especially among surfers – which give the inside of the slides a bright appearance with a Hawaiian touch. Visitors from a height of 42 inches (one meter) and a maximum weight of 300 pounds (approx. 136 kilograms) are allowed to use the slides. The attraction has a capacity for around 300 people per hour.
“Volcanic Wedgeee –three Es for triple the excitement, exhilaration and explosive fun with this new ride, will be our cheekiest yet,” says Wet’n’Wild General Manager Scott Loos. “We are proud to open the tallest, steepest and fastest ride at the park, thrilling 300 riders per hour.”

The new attraction is the first major expansion since the opening of the “Lil Kahuna Beach” children’s area in 2022 and the first new thrill ride since the introduction of the “Waimea Whirl” in 2015. The construction time was around 180 days. Cooperation partners for the project implementation also included Brotherhood Builders in cooperation with Aina Electrical. ■
