(eap) Germany’s Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is continuously investing not only in enhancing the experience offered to its guests, but also in the well-being of its employees. This is reflected, among other things, in the recent opening of the new employee restaurant “Coasteria”. After less than a year of construction, the new building has been completed. Covering a total area of 4,500 square metres across four floors, the building also accommodates Europa-Park’s new central kitchen as well as new lockers, changing rooms and showers for employees. A double-digit million-euro sum was invested in the project.

The new employee restaurant offers 560 indoor seats as well as a further 150 seats on the rooftop terrace overlooking the park’s newest roller coaster, “Voltron Nevera”. Around 1,200 meals are expected to be served to employees at Coasteria every day. The selection ranges from savoury and sweet breakfast options to daily changing menus featuring meat or fish as well as vegetarian choices, each including a soup of the day and a selection of desserts. Pasta dishes with various sauces and changing vegan bowls are also available. Several microwaves additionally allow employees to bring their own food and heat it up on site.
“Our employees are the foundation of the quality and special atmosphere that our guests experience at Europa-Park every day. With Coasteria, we are creating a place for them to come together, where fresh food and an appealing atmosphere for a relaxing lunch break are given top priority. For us, the investment is therefore also a clear sign of appreciation. It is important to us to offer our employees a working environment in which they feel comfortable and enjoy spending time together,” emphasises Frederik Mack, Director Human Resources & Organisation at Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort.
Miriam Mack, Head of Corporate Health Management at Europa-Park, is particularly pleased with the positive response to the new “FeelGood” station: “We are proud to be able to offer our employees fresh bowls every day with the new concept and thus make a contribution to healthy eating in everyday working life.”

The ground floor of the new building houses Europa-Park’s new central kitchen across an area of around 1,200 square metres. Among other things, around 90 tonnes of spaghetti are processed here each year for Coasteria and the theme park’s catering operations. The kitchen is therefore intended to make an important contribution to the catering provision for both employees and guests.
“From the central kitchen and Coasteria through to the new changing areas, we deliberately considered the different requirements as part of one overall concept. The result is a high-performance infrastructure that noticeably improves everyday working conditions for many employees while at the same time optimising important processes behind the scenes at Europa-Park. The entire team did a tremendous job in developing and implementing the project, meaning that the new Coasteria was even completed three weeks ahead of the scheduled opening date,” says Charles Botta, Director of MACK Solutions, member of Europa-Park’s management team and responsible for the planning and construction of the employee restaurant.
In addition, Europa-Park has announced further details for the 2027 season: Following the success of the 2026 Pre-Opening Day, the theme park is set to open from 7 March 2027 next year for the first time as part of “Pre-Opening Weeks”, around two weeks ahead of the official start of the season. During this period, guests will be able to visit the park at a reduced admission price. However, as Europa-Park will still be preparing for the regular start of the season at that time, not all attractions and shows will yet be available in full. ■
