Norway: Hunderfossen to Build New Family Roller Coaster in 2022

The new family ride at Hunderfossen will be a Bob Coaster from Gerstlauer.

For its 4D simulator attraction “Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator” (by Simworx), which opened last year and features a ride film produced by Qvisten Animation (cf. EAP 4/2021), Norway’s Hunderfossen Eventyrpark was awarded a “Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement”. To offer a new experience catered to its family audience for the upcoming season, this time the leisure park located near Lillehammer has teamed up with German manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides and again with the award-winning film studio to create a new, unique attraction together.

Now two new characters from the Hunderfossen universe – which is known to be all about Norwegian fairy tales and legends – are the protagonists in the story to the ride. Namely, the king’s dragons, called “Fyr & Flamme”, which visitors will have to tame in the new experience. The new attraction, which is scheduled to open at the start of the season on 26 May, is a bob coaster from the Bavaria-based manufacturer that will feature a special wagon design and special effects. Find out more about the ride in one of our next upcoming magazine issues. (eap)
