(eap) The Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has again planned an extensive investment program for its theme parks in the USA for 2024 – according to its own statement, the most substantial in more than a decade. This includes five new rides that are being built in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and DC, again bringing the superheroes and villains from the “DC Universe” to several Six Flags parks. In addition, three brand new roller coasters will make their way into Six Flags parks, including Intamin’s new “Ultra Surf” coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, North America’s first Super Boomerang coaster (by Vekoma) at Six Flags Great Adventure (“THE FLASHTM: Vertical Velocity”) to mark the park’s 50th anniversary, and the “Bobcat” wooden coaster with advanced TimberlinerTM trains (by The Gravity Group) at Six Flags Great Escape (New York). We already reported on the three new Zamperla rides scheduled to open at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio.

The other 2024 highlights of the American theme park chain include:

  • Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington: Here, the “El Rio Lento” log flume ride is set to become one of the longest of its kind in the world by adding a new lift hill and two large drops to the ride for even more fun
  • Wild Safari Park (part of Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey): Here, a new glamping offer will be created at the new Savannah Sunset Resort & Spa
  • Six Flags St. Louis (Missouri): “THE JOKERTM: Carnival of Chaos”, a pendulum ride (by Zamperla) with a height of just over 50 meters, a rotating gondola and a top speed of over 120 km/h (75 mph), will provide thrills for the guests
  • Six Flags Great America (Illinois): A pendulum attraction by Zamperla is also being built in this park, which will be called “Sky Striker” and will swing guests through the air at a height of more than 50 meters (172 feet)
  • Six Flags Great Escape: In addition to the wooden coaster (see above), several attractions at this park will be re-themed and become part of the DC universe, such as “GREEN LANTERNTM: Airborne”, “POISON IVYTM: Toxic Spin”, “THE PENGUINTM: GOTHAM City Getaway” and “BATGIRLTM: Gotham City Chase”
  • Six Flags America (Maryland): Here, in celebration of the park’s 25th birthday, the existing “SteamTown” themed area will be redesigned to feature a new storyline, redesigned rides, a returning stunt show and new food and retail offerings beginning next year. With “SteamWhirler” the park also gets a new family ride (a Nebulaz by Zamperla)
